Dedicated to the memory of Bethy

For 12 years we have been learning from Bethy to experience life more fully. She taught us to pay attention and take opportunities to be grateful and appreciate one-another. Bethy was calm and self-assured, resilient and courageous, compassionate, full of integrity and very, very funny.

She loved being with her friends - from sharing stories and favourite books to playing in the park, trick-or-treating trips around the village as a witch, to the sleepover watching Pride and Prejudice when she’d come home from hospital. She loved nature and being part of the whole natural world, a world she was determined to protect and preserve for the future. And she loved her family: parents, Emma and Jon, and her brother, Ben. She taught us that it is the simplest moments of family life - cooking, camping, messing around in the garden, the sudden sound of a laugh, the smell of a daughter’s hair - that are the most precious of all.

We will be learning from Bethy for the rest of our lives and be reminded that we are often more amazing than we think we are, can be braver than we imagine, and to concentrate on what’s really important, not be distracted by mere ‘noise’ and that there is beauty in messiness. She leaves us love and so will never truly leave.

We would love people to add their own stories and memories of Bethy.
